In addition to our primary care services, we have an on-site lab available for our patients. We also provide bone density tests, sclerotherapy, and diabetic education services.
For the immediate healthcare needs of our patients and the community, we operate a Walk In facility. You may visit our Walk In without an appointment for acute care. We are open weekdays 8am – 8pm and weekends 8am – 2pm.
Our Story

In July 1977, Bruce Bowling, Victor Elinoff, and Jonathan Harris, all recent graduates of the Wilson Hospital Family Medicine Training Program, opened Primary Care Affiliates. The practice started through a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation associated with Wilson Hospital. Their teacher and mentor Glenn Tymeson joined them soon after. The practice grew and thrived, providing comprehensive primary care.

In January 1980, the practice became independent of the hospital, changing its name to Endwell Family Physicians, LLP.

Three years later and itching to grow, the group began to hire additional physicians and bought the permanent home of EFP at 415 Hooper Road. Since then, we have continued to expand by adding more board-certified physicians and staff to support our growing patient population. We have evolved and developed into this community’s largest independent primary care office.
We were pleased to bring on nurse practitioners starting with Gloria Block, FNP-C. Physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, laboratory, and business personnel also joined the practice, all with the primary goal of serving our patients in a caring atmosphere.

As the needs of our patients changed, so did we. In 1999, recognizing the importance of providing unscheduled care availability to both our patients and the community, we opened the Walk In as an acute care center.
Doctors from our practice founded Regional Clinical Research as a research site for clinical drug, immunization, device, and medical therapy trials. After nearly twenty years, Meridian Clinical Research and then Velocity Clinical Research took over this role from RCR. During those years, our partnership with these clinical research sites allowed us to offer unique opportunities to thousands of patients.

As the community supported us and we grew, we began to find opportunities to give back. Starting with the flood of 2006, our providers and employees began annual fundraisers to support local families and charities. Inspired by the enthusiasm of our staff, our outreach has extended from our own backyard to neighboring states and countries.
We pride ourselves in providing new and varied services to our patients and staying at the forefront of medical innovations in primary care. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, EFP updated our model to meet pandemic needs. All of our patients experienced this in some way, from our masking policies and rigorous safety protocols, to your first covid test coming in our staff entrance at night, to sitting in the car and seeing a provider outside, to entering the office through our side front door into the “covid bubble.”
On October 5, 2020, EFP launched our Respiratory Clinic. We chose to call it the Respiratory Clinic, and not the “Covid Clinic,” because in the Respiratory Clinic we did much more than diagnose and treat COVID-19. We structured the Respiratory Clinic as a safe space to effectively offer care for other contagious illness such as flu, RSV, and colds, as well as other medical issues that might come up during a respiratory visit. In severe cases, our providers went to patients’ homes to care for patients who otherwise would have been hospitalized. We also continued to treat our patients during their hospital visits.
Our response to Covid-19 was featured in several publications as a model of care against disease. For more information, please see below.

Our clinicians are actively involved in teaching. Medical students and graduate physicians, as well as nurse practitioner, physician assistant, medical assistant, and lab students regularly spend part of their training with our staff and providers. We are a teaching site for many programs including SUNY Upstate, Binghamton University, and SUNY Broome.
Today Endwell Family Physicians, LLP, is the only privately owned and managed primary care practice in this area. We take great pride in continuing to treat our patients in a caring and supportive environment, and look forward to growing together in the future.
